Edward Bates, Lincoln’s Attorney General, Autograph Letter, signed.

In full: “You ask for a sentiment – will this do? ‘Honor & Shame from no condition rise; Act well your part – there all the honor lies.’”

Excellent; a few folds; strong ink writing. Framed elaborately to 32” x 21” with three plaques: typescript; short bio; and historical explanation titled Lincoln’s Attorney General Writes of Honor As He Was Fighting for his Own.  This will need to be crated or we are happy to unframe and send everything so you can frame it as you like.
