Bates claims that John Wilkes Booth was not killed by Union Army Soldiers. Bates says Booth successfully eluded capture altogether, and lived for many years thereafter under a series of assumed names.

The scarce paper edition of this far-fetched yet intriguing and entertaining account of Booth’s escape from Garrett’s farm and subsequent friendship with the author.
