Product Description

This Frederick Douglass Signature  with closing is matted with a photograph of the Civil Rights crusader and includes a small black plaque identifying the subject.

Frederick Douglass was an American social reformer, abolitionist and civil rights leader, abolitionist, orator, writer, publisher, and statesman. He escaped slavery in Maryland, to became a national leader of the abolitionist movement.  Douglass also served as Minister to Haiti under Benjamin Harrison. During that tenure, he served as Haiti’s co-commissioner at their pavilion at the World’s Columbian Exposition.

Douglass, Frederick. Signature with closing: “Gratefully your friend/Frederick Douglass”, matted with black and white photograph (original from 1876) and descriptive plaque. Overall size is 15″ x 9.5″, signature with closing is 4″ x 1.5″ (all sizes approx.)
