Edward Everett’s Address, before the crowd at the Consecration of the National Cemetery at Gettysburg, PA. Everett went on for two long hours. After, Everett wrote to Lincoln saying “I should be glad if I could flatter myself that I came as near to the central idea of the occasion, in two hours, as you did in two minutes.”

The first large-scale distribution of Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address, and the only practicable manner of owning an early printing of the famous speech. It appears on page 84.
