A requisition for “one cord” of fuel for the Ft. Crawford Police Guard. Taylor had been a career officer in the U.S. Army, rising to the rank of Major General, before becoming Commander in Chief, when his victories in the Mexican-American War won him the election to the White House. He became the third shortest-serving president (14 months), behind William Henry Harrison and James Garfield.
Taylor has boldly signed as Commander. Marked “Duplicates”, another Captain signs as well.
