Van Buren writes back to a twelve-year-old boy, William H. Ebbets. Ebbets had written him a congratulatory letter.

Accompanied by a letter from Ebbets dated February 4, 1837 to his parents, quoting his own letter to Van Buren.

Van Buren writes, in part: “Thanks for your affectionate congratulations…I wish you success in life.”
