Offering a set of Abraham Lincoln and Stephen Douglas bust portraits by John McClarey.
Cold cast in resin, McClarey captures each man’s likeness perfectly. Each of the sculptures bears a brass plaque that reads “Debate / ’58,” referencing the Lincoln Douglas debates that catapulted Lincoln into the national spotlight. The plaque measures 3/4″ x 7/8″.
John McClarey created his first Lincoln bust from a bar of Ivory soap when he was eight years old. Although he did not study art in college his Lincoln sculptures dot illinois and are as far away as Moscow, Russia. McClarey lives in Decatur, IL.
Each bust sits atop a 3″ block of wood. Overall, Lincoln is about 10 1/2″ tall x 3″ wide; Douglas is about 10″ tall x 3″ wide.
These are handsome and substantial. They would make a beautiful addition to any bookshelf or curio cabinet. A great gift for the Lincoln lover or for yourself!
V.G.+, with only minor scraping to each man’s hair.
