Bernhardt Wall, Lincoln’s New Salem: A Pilgrimage, Signed and Inscribed
A Lavish Tribute to Lincoln’s New Salem Years…
Bernhardt Wall created Lincoln’s New Salem: A Pilgrimage as a lavish tribute to Abraham Lincoln. Wall was inspired by a visit to the site of New Salem, Illinois in 1926.
There are 54 leaves of etched illustrations and text, printed in various colors. This is copy #22 of an edition of 103. Each was entirely etched, printed, and bound by Wall.
This book is inscribed and signed in pencil to Mr. and Mrs. Miles M. Dawson of New York and Florida. Mr. Dawson’s attractive bookplate is on front pastedown. Quite possibly the Miles M.
