Charles Schulz signs a a poster featuring Snoopy, one of his most iconic characters from the Peanuts cartoon strip.

The Peanuts syndicated comic strip ran from 1950 until Schulz’s death in 2000. Totalling 17,897 strips, it is considered one of the most influential and popular comic strips in history. It is still in rerun today. It also spawned classic Emmy-nominated and awarded animated television specials including A Charlie Brown Christmas and It’s The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown. Both are holiday classics, part of American pop culture today.

One of Schulz most beloved characters was Snoopy. Snoopy was Charlie Brown’s beagle. Snoopy had a host of alter egos including a World War II flying ace chasing the Red Baron.

On this poster, Snoopy is seen as a tennis player. Flashing a toothy grin, he appears ready to serve and slay any opponent; with a quote of “SPEAK SOFTLY / AND CARRY / A $75 RACKET!” In today’s dollars, that would be around $700! Snoopy is sometimes seen playing doubles with Lucy.

Charles M. Schulz signs the poster in the lower right corner, above his last name, which is printed on the poster.

Divot under the “A” in Speak, does not go through to the back, Corner crunches else very good. Bright!
