Description
Franklin Roosevelt signs a typed letter to Mrs. Schuyler Warren, New York. FDR thanks her for a letter and wishes her and her husband a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Mrs Schuyer Warren, prior to her marriage, was Alice Edith Binsse. She grew up a block away from Theodore Roosevelt. Both families owned importing businesses and shared the same social circle. Politically active and an ardent suffragette, in January 1932, she attended a dinner for Mrs. Gifford Pinchot, who was running for Congress on the “dry” platform. It is unclear whether she supported Franklin D. Roosevelt for that election as Franklin was the “wet” candidate for President in 1932. She did belong to many of the same social and political organizations as Roosevelt’s wife, mother and other female relatives. She passed away in 1950. She was 87 years old.
Excellent; a bold and larger than usual ink signature
