Description

With History of the Thirty-third Illinois, Isaac Elliott and Virgil Way took on the enormous job of compiling and recording the valiant career of an Illinois regiment from Bloomington-Normal – “The Normal Regiment!”

An interesting — and quite scarce — narrative of service supported by useful and detailed muster rolls.  The regiment saw service at Vicksburg, the Trans-Mississippi, and Mobile.  Particularly valuable for sketches of the companies of the regiment, plus first-hand reminiscences from individual members.

Boards lightly scuffed & soiled, with light fraying & worn edges; shaken rear hinge; light foxing; else very good.

Elliott, Isaac H., and Way, Virgil G. History of the Thirty-third Illinois Veteran Volunteer Infantry in the Civil War… Gibson City, IL: 1902.  1st edition, illus. (ports.), plan, (Dornbusch-166).
