Description
This handbill details the marching order for the participants in Lincoln’s funeral procession in Philadelphia.
Lincoln visited Philadelphia on a number of occasions, including a Whig convention in 1846, a Republican convention in 1856 (where he hoped to be the Vice-Presidential nominee), and perhaps most importantly, at Independence Hall as President-elect.
Lincoln’s body lay in state, again at Independence Hall, on April 22-24, 1865.
This very scarce broadside gives the details of the procession to the Hall.
Excellent; one horizontal fold.
