Description

Offering M. Jacobs’ Notes on the Rebel Invasion of Maryland and Pennsylvania and The Battle of Gettysburg…., with the hard to find map, included.

An account by the professor of mathematics and chemistry, Pennsylvania College, Gettysburg, and author of The Great Invasion of 1863.

The narrative travels from June 20th – July 3rd.  The three-colored map covers all three days, showing the Union and Rebel lines of battle.

Original owner’s signature on t.p.;  “J. B. Livingston / Oct. 21 1863” (the book itself, though with an 1864 publication date, came out in late 1863.)   Excellent; map entirely intact and fresh, with one neat tape repair.

Jacobs, M.  NOTES ON THE REBEL INVASION OF MARYLAND AND PENNSYLVANIA AND THE BATTLE OF GETTYSBURG, JULY 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 1863.  Gettysburg: 1864.  1st ed., 47p., folding map.

Ibid.  Very good but lacks map.   $65.00
