William T. Sherman, General and Field Orders…pamphlet
Sherman Publishes the Orders of His Victorious Army
William T. Sherman’s General and Field Orders. Campaign of the Armies of the Tennessee, Ohio, and Cumberland, lays out the orders that guided his group of armies on their campaign to Atlanta and their subsequent March to the Sea.
The published orders include correspondence, organizational and command assignments, and operational orders, most published over the signatures of his assistant adjutants general or aides de camp, such as R. M. Sawyer or L. M. Dayton. Together they provide an inside look at the mechanisms that set the victorious force in motion.
Rear wrapper detached but present; chipped and folded at corners, especially the lower right front; usual toning; chipped spine; light damp stain; else very good.
