Shadrach Bond, Illinois’ First Governor signs a printed letter.

Bond was born in Baltimore County, Maryland, and emigrated to the Illinois region in 1794. He became the first delegate to the U.S. House of Representatives from Illinois in 1812, becoming its first Governor from 1818-1822.

Herein he transmits three copies (not present) of the Acts of the last session of the General Assembly of Illinois and requesting “a like interchange of the Laws for the State over which your Excellency presides.”

Quite Scarce! Excellent with light fold marks.
