Description

An appointment of “Benjamin Prescott, of Northampton Gentleman, to be Coroner in our County of Hampshire during Pleasure; and do hereby authorize and empower him to do, and perform all and whatsoever to the Office an Duty of a Corner in the Said County doth any Ways belong or appertain.” 

Excellent, with a large, somewhat labored, strong signature; very slight toning, w/ smoothed folds; sm separation at one margin, w/ slight staining throughout.    

Hancock, John. Partly Printed Document, Signed “John Hancock” as Governor of Massachusetts.  Boston:  27 February 1793.  1p.; paper embossed “Publick Seal” of the Commonwealth; 9” x 13-5/6” (sight), museum- standard matting, handsomely framed to 14-1/2” x 19”.  Countersigned by John Avery as Secretary of the Commonwealth.  Manuscript “Oath and Declaration” notarization on verso.
