Michael Shaara’s Killer Angels, in first edition, with a very good dustjacket.
The classic novel of the Battle of Gettysburg, this book was the inspiration for the 1993 epic film, Gettysburg. Similar to Stephen Crane’s Red Badge of Courage, the novel realistically depicts the psychological complexities of fear and courage on the battlefield. The Killer Angels has a much focus; moving quickly from one character to another and one battle situation to the next.
Here’s what some fans of the book have to say: “My favorite historical novel…a superb re-creation of the Battle of Gettysburg.” – James M McPherson. “
A book that changed my life…”- Ken Burns.
This copy was previously owned by Alice Cromie, the Chicago novelist and Civil War expert. There is a sticker bearing her name on the front flyleaf.
Very good condition; one page with edge bump; dust jacket has just a few edge scrapes, else very good and bright. This is a tough book to find in this condition as the production process was rather slipshod.
