Lincoln’s Secretary Tells Lincoln’s Story

Description

John Nicolay, Lincoln secretary and biographer, wrote this short, pithy biography of Abraham Lincoln in 1882.

Daniel Fish in his Lincoln Bibliography (1906) noted only 50 copies, stating that this was written for Encyclopedia Britannica, 9th edition; it remained in the famous 11th edition as well (Vol XVI, p703), which was known for the high level merit of its entries.
