Offering a Mamie Doud Eisenhower autograph ink signature, on a card.

This is Mrs. Eisenhower’s official inaugural photograph. The dress was a special shade of pink, called “Mamie pink.” The photo has faded, the pink is on the right side only. Mamie’s tenure as first lady marked a return to more traditional roles for women. During the era, women were encouraged to leave behind the freedoms that working for the war effort had granted.
