“I have the honor to send herewith my bond (not present) filled by Ast. Surgeon J. M. Steiner and Lt. S. T. More of the second infantry each of whom told me that he was worth the amount mentioned in the bond. The responsibilities of the sureties has not been certified as I have not been able to find a person knowing the pecuniary circumstances of both. I am Sir Very respectfully Your obdt. Servt”¦.”
