Description

This typed letter, signed by Alice Roosevelt Longworth originated from her home on Massachusetts Ave. She lived in the home for over 60 years. Today, the building houses the Washington Legal Foundation.

“Mrs. L” thanks Mrs. Icenhower for sending some photographs. Mrs. L is wondering if Mrs. Icenhower would like them returned. The homes of the two women are only a few miles apart.

This writer finds one Mrs. Cora R. Icenhower, born in 1895. The Social Security number issued for that person indicates a Washington, DC residence. That person passed away in 1986. There are over 40 references to Icenhowers in the Dwight D. Eisenhower Library’s holdings, but none in the papers of Mrs. Longworth.

Very good; horizontal crease does mar text; cover has small water stain on verso; minor even toning on both pieces.

Longworth, Alice Roosevelt. Typed, Letter, Signed, with Cover. A brief note referencing photographs; includes stamped cover addressed to Mrs. Cora R. Icenhower; bearing a CDS 26 Feb 1965, framed in late 20th Century hinge back frame; easily removed. 5″ x 7″, overall 9 1/4″ x 7 1/4″.
