Offering a carte de visite, signed by Lincoln’s Vice Presdident, Andrew Johnson.

Johnson was not elected; becoming president and finishing the term after Abraham Lincoln was assassinated. He was president through the early days of Reconstruction at a time when emotions ran high. Due to disagreements with Congress and his staff, he was impeached in 1868; saved from being removed as president by one vote. He was not nominated to run for another term.

Excellent tonality and clarity; strong, large ink signature.
