Richard O’Connor was a popular biographer of Civil War generals during the mid-20th Century, and his Sheridan the Inevitable is among his best works.

This copy is a first printing from the limited Winchester Edition. While O’Connor’s biography is more sympathetic to Sheridan than more modern works, his work is well-researched and compellingly written. Sheridan the Inevitable provides a definitive biography of a fighting cock and, more important to many readers, offers hours of absorption in its account of a colorful career.
