Edwin E. Marvin recorded the history of this famous regiment, The Fifth Regiment Connecticut Volunteers. The volume was published for the Reunion Association of the regiment.
The 5th Connecticut served from the beginning of the war and fought Stonewall Jackson in the Shenandoah Valley. As a member of the Union XII Corps they subsequently fought at Cedar Mountain, Chancellorsville, Gettysburg, and the Atlanta Campaign.
This volume is in Very good + condition with bright blue boards with a vivid red star on the front symbolizing the 1st Division of the XII Corps. Includes photocopied documents from the Adjutant General’s office relating to a little-known engagement at Columbia Furnace, Virginia in April 1862. An important regimental history in uncommonly good condition.
