Offering a Carte de Visite, signed by James A. Garfield, as Brigadier General. 

Post-war signed cabinet card photographs are not uncommon. However, during the Civil War – and especially as Brigadier General – they are most unusual, and highly desirable.  A brilliant mind, a fine writer and speaker, and considered handsome, made Garfield’s assassination a true tragedy.  A signed CDV photo makes a terrific addition to any collector’s presidential or military collection; an artifact that should retain its value in American culture far into the future.
