Description

John Adams Free Frank, framed with plaque. This envelope is addressed to Judge Crunch (?) in Alexandria, District of Columbia. The Free Frank privilege allowed presidents and other members of the legislature to send mail free of charge. 

John Adams was a Founding Father and the Second President of the United States. He was also defended the British soldiers who opened fire on the colonists at the Boston Massacre. He believed no one should denied counsel and a fair trial. Six of the eight defendants were acquitted. The other two were convicted of manslaughter.

Some overall water-staining, folded; else very good. Not examined outside of frame; back protective paper half torn away.
