John Hancock signs an appointment of “Benjamin Prescott, of Northampton Gentleman, to be Coroner in our County of Hampshire during Pleasure; and do hereby authorise and empower him to do, and perform all and whatsoever to the Office and Duty of a Coroner in the said County doth any Ways belong or appertain.”
Excellent, with a large, somewhat labored, strong signature; very slight toning, with smoothed folds; small separation at one margin, with slight staining throughout.
