Patriotic Cover, Lincoln and his Cabinet

This illustrated patriotic cover features Lincoln and his cabinet, plus General Winfield Scott. it features red and blue colors, and black, line art illustrations.

It is addressed to Mr. E. P. Colgrove at the Mclean Tompkins Company. While a cursor search does not yield anything on the Mclean Tompkins Company, the McClean and Tompkins families each have long histories in the area. There is a Tompkins County, that has a hamlet named Mclean.

This cover bears a 3-cent George Washington stamp. The 3-cent Washington’s primary use was to pre-pay the half-ounce first-class rate. There is no return address.
