Sievers, S.J., spent almost 20 years researching and writing the 3-volume set Benjamin Harrison: Hoosier Warrior (Through the Civil War Years, 1833-1865); Benjamin Harrison: Hoosier Statesman (From the Civil War to the White house, 1865-1888); Benjamin Harrison: Hoosier President (The White House and After, 1889-1901). Sievers eventually returned to his first volume and revised it, making this revised edition the best version of the book.
