Description

In Memoriam General William T. Sherman recounts the proceedings in the New York legislature honoring General Sherman. It includes written memorials, the text of the Resolution honoring General Sherman, and reminiscences. 

This book bears a stamped “Compliments of Charles T. Saxton, Senator, 28th District, 1893.” Saxton enlisted in the Civil War when he was 15 years old, serving in the 19th Regiment of New York Volunteers. He would rise to Major, and have a long political career eventually becoming Lieutenant governor of New York. 

Very good, with some edge wear and staining, glassine guard on title page is torn-with a small remnant stuck down on title page.
