This is a bold, classic example of Lincoln’s full signature, a small a glue spot just grazes the top of the “A” and “b” only. 

This oval image, taken by Anthony Berger at Brady’s Washington studio on 9 Feb. 1964, is quite unusual. It has been enlarged a bit from the normal carte de visite size to a more dramatic 4-1/2” x 3-1/2.” The albumen photograph has gorgeous albumen tonality. 

This had become a favorite “father” pose for Lincoln since released.
