Description
This print, Abraham Lincoln Entering Richmond depicts President Lincoln and his son Tad (on his 12th birthday) walking into Richmond, Virginia, after the Union army had conquered the Confederate army there.
According to the reminiscences of William Crook, “With six sailors in front of the President and six in the rear, with Admiral Porter and Captain Penrose on one side and Tad and William Crook on the other, the party proceeds on foot to General Weitzel’s headquarters, the house recently occupied by President Davis.”
A warm presentation.
Excellent, though fillet is a bit rubbed.
