Dawes, signs and inscribes The First Year of the Budget of the United States. This is a great association copy as Dawes had been the former Director of the Budget of the United States, later President of the Central Trust Company in Chicago.
It is inscribed to Frank Pace. Pace would become the third Secretary of the Army under President Truman. The inscription dates from only a few weeks before Pace accepted the appointment. Inscribed and signed with the date “March 27th 1950.
