Description
Mrs. Dunbar Rowland (Eron Rowland) wrote Andrew Jackson’s Campaign Against the British, or the Mississippi Territory in the War of 1812 to focus on Jackson’s campaigns in her native Mississippi and on the lower Mississippi River.
Originally written in 1921 but revised for this publication, Rowland presents a study of U.S., Creek Indian, Spanish and British military operations between 1813-15. This is an essential work for understanding The Battle of New Orleans in the larger military sense.
Rowland and her husband wrote extensively on the history of Mississippi but must also be remembered as the founders of the Mississippi Department of Archives and History, a valuable institution that still serves the history community to this day.
Very light rubbing & bump; owner’s inscription on front fly leaf; else very good and bright.
