Uzzell, E. M. The Trial and Death of Henry Wirz with Other Matters Pertaining Thereto, 1st ed., Wraps
$275.00
Description
Henry Wirz was commandant of Camp Sumter, the notorious Andersonville prisoner of war camp. Tens of thousands of Union prisoners died at Andersonville due to the terrible conditions and corruption.
Wirz became a cause celebre for former Confederates, and for anti-government activists who saw the trial and execution as a case of vituperative judicial overreach.
This is an apologia for the Wirz, of Camp Sumter at Andersonville, Georgia.
Excellent; some toning of wrappers and body.
Quite Uncommon!
