A Famous Western Brigade

Description

The Story of the Sherman Brigade by Wilbur Hinman is the chronicle of one of the most storied units in the Union’s Army of the Cumberland. The book is enormous in scope.

These Ohio soldiers – the brigade was named for Senator John Sherman – marched and fought across the western theater from the beginning of the war, fighting at Shiloh, Stones River, Chickamauga, the Atlanta Campaign, and through to the end of the war. A unit commanded by General Charles Harker until his death at Kennesaw Mountain. The book is “…One of the top ten narratives of a Federal soldier; a necessity for any study of the Western Theater.” – James I. Robertson.

This copy has expected toning; light shelf wear; else very good condition. A large book, so it is uncommon to find such a nice copy.
