Abraham Lincoln addresses an envelope to “Sheriff of Tazewell Co.”

Tazewell County is in Central Illinois, north of Springfield. Peoria is at the north end of the county. Tazewell County is part of the eighth judicial circuit in Illinois, the circuit Lincoln travelled during is law career. There are three plaques at courthouses along the circuit that honor Lincoln’s time on the circuit.
