Edward Achorn’s Every Drop of Blood is one of the best works on Lincoln from 2020. Unfortunately, the book’s release during the early-Pandemic “lockdown” prevented it from reaching the wide audience it deserved.

The book is a brilliantly conceived and vividly drawn story of Washington D.C. on the eve of Lincoln’s historic Second Inaugural Address – a lens through which to understand all the complexities of the Civil War.

Very good with usual minor shelf wear.
