“Bitter Bierce” is chronicled by his publisher and friend, Walter Neale. Neale dispels some myths and offers a glimpse into the tragic life Bierce.

Bierce is best known for three works: his “howlingly funny book The Devil’s Dictionary,  and An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge, one of the most famous and frequently anthologized stories in American literature. His Tales of Soldiers and Civilians (available below) is a collection of short stories about life during the Civil War.
