Description

The Preservers of Our Union is similar in motif as our other Kimmel & Forester Print, Columbia’s Noblest Sons. 

Columbia bestows laurel wreaths above the images of both Ulysses S. Grant and Abraham Lincoln.  The bottom is features with the accoutrement of war, while above is an image of soldiers and another of sailors all cheering in victory. 

Three titled scenes flank the sides of “The Preserver’s” images, five battle related, one of surrender.  Re Columbia: Interestingly, Columbia’s pose reveals one breast, a often-seen, classical pose. 

Mottled mostly at the margins, without touching the images; else very good, with solid printing.
