Abraham Lincoln, Bust by Unidentified Artist

Description

This Abraham Lincoln Bust appears to be created by an unknown artist. We do not find a signature, date, or foundry mark. A handsome bust of Abraham Lincoln  in a dark greenish hue produced with the preferred “lost wax” method.

Unusual in that Lincoln is toga-draped and wearing a suit coat and tie.  The image slightly resembles Alexander Gardner’s O-91 image taken 9 February 1864.
