Stefan Lorant, Autograph Manuscript, Mary Lincoln Book

Description

Stefan Lorant apparently wished to publish his rendition of Mary Lincoln’s life. Here is his manuscript, perhaps three-quarters finished.  There is an extensive chapter on the trial of Mary and his understanding of the psychiatrist’s testimony. 

Lorant is perhaps best known for his pictorial histories on the presidency. His Lincoln: His Life in Photographs (1941; rev. ed. 1957) helped to inaugurate the genre of the photo-biography. 

Here is an opportunity for an enterprising author to complete and publish this posthumous and unknown Lorant title.
